(Ensign Records released A Tonic For The Troops in the UK in June In the U.S., Columbia Records took over The Boomtown Rats from Mercury, replaced "Can't Stop" and "[Watch Out For] The Normal People" with "Mary Of The 4th Form" and "Joey's On The Street Again" from the first album, resequenced the tracks, and delayed the American release.

A more apt comparison would have been their ska equivalents, Madness.

  5. The rest of the album is definitely a development in the right direction. "Eva Braun" and "Rat Trap" are excellent songs, the latter becoming a sort of trademark song for the band. The album comes also with four extra tracks which make it nothing short of a deal. From start to finish, this is a total joy to listen to/5(55).
